Corrective Exercise

An integrated approach to chronic pain relief, muscle activation, core strength development and greater freedom of movement
Schedule a Strength & Movement Assessment

Optimize Your Body, Optimize Your Life

Being physically fit is not always simple. Building a healthy diet and exercise is rather easy to learn, but to make long-lasting positive changes, we need to examine how our body moves, its strengths and weaknesses and areas that yearn for relief from tension and pain. Often we need to start by repairing the foundation to truly optimize our bodies to live our best lives possible.

Corrective Exercise is different than a personal training program, far more!

It is a movement-centered approach that builds a strong connection between the mind and body so that you can have the power over your your chronic pain, over use stress from repetitive movements like sitting at a computer all day, and limitations to living life with the full range of motion your body is capable of.

This technique doesn't rely on a gym setting with lots of fancy equipment. and a highly-customized plan that identifies your under active, over active and shorten muscles. Your sessions will incorporate mind-muscle activation, muscle isolations and strengthening for your under-active muscles, core stabilization development, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation to dynamically stretch shortened muscles and a series of myofacial release exercises to break up facial scarring on the muscle tendons.

No matter what your personal fitness or healing goals may be, Functional Movement Repair can bring deep therapeutic relief from chronic muscle and joint pain, stress and low energy and increase the strength and stability of your body for years to come.

Personally, I have seen people transform their habits, exercise routines, mental clarity and so much more from the benefits that come from optimizing the body to feel physically balanced, strong and free of the fear of re-injury.

Who Benefits the Most From Corrective Exercise Training
  • Anyone who has chronic joint/muscle pain
  • Anyone who suffers from chronic cramping and muscle stiffness
  • Anyone with a prior sports/movement injury  (doctors release may be required)
  • Anyone with poor posture that wants relief from upper back, shoulder and neck pain
  • Anyone that sits at a computer more than 4 hours daily
  • Anyone that has done repetitive activities resulting in overuse pain/injury
  • Athletes interested in optimizing their performance and strength
  • Anyone interested in creating greater core strength and stability
  • Anyone interested in relief from chronic and periodic low back pain

How Our Corrective Exercise Program Works

Today, you are living your body's entire life story. Every pulled muscle, injury, chronic condition, every minute sitting at a desk, the hours of repetitive motions, sports injuries...everything is being lived through your body right now. Just like every body is different and unique, the approach to repairing years of use for you individual body will be just as unique.

STEP 1: Every Functional Movement Repair program starts with a comprehensive 80 minute movement, strength and flexibility assessment.

Your full assessment includes:
  • 42 different static and dynamic positions are recorded and analyzed to determine the state of muscle length, range of motion and pain triggers for major muscle groups
  • Step test to evaluate cardiac conditioning
  • Isometric core strength testing
  • Upper and lower muscle strength testing

STEP 2: With loads of data, in hand, your Corrective Exercise Specialist will review and analyze your outcomes and spend 80 minutes after your assessment session creating your detailed Functional Movement Repair Report and Plan.

Your Report & Plan Includes:
  • 25+ pages of visuals that captures every aspect of your movement patterns, including diagrams that indicate where you have proper and/or imbalanced muscles
  • Identification of every over, under, shortened, and weak muscle with specific prescribed corrective movements and exercises
  • Your cardiac condition results, with recommended training ranges
  • Strength testing results with recommended actions
  • A recommended plan of action to achieve remarkable balance, freedom of movement and strength for your specific body

STEP 3: Once your plan is complete, your Corrective Exercise Specialist will schedule the second 50 Min session to review the results, discuss the recommended action, and answer any questions you may have.

Your Second Session Includes:
  • Review of the plan
  • Demonstration of all recommended exercises
  • A printed and digital version of your report & plan

The report and plan you will receive will be so incredibly comprehensive that if you stopped here, and simply performed the exercises and movements noted in the report, you would have everything you need to create substantial Functional Movement Repair on your own. Total Time Invested by Your Corrective Exercise Specialist up to this point: 3.5 Hours

STEP 4: If you'd like to take it up a notch and ensure you're maximizing your investment in your body, you can choose to continue with a 4, 8 or 12 week Functional Movement Repair program. Note: A minimum of a four week commitment is necessary to participate in the Functional Movement Repair Training programs.

Your multi-week training program includes:
  • Meeting 2x per week one-on-one for 50 Mins with your Corrective Exercise Specialist
  • Core Stabilization Exercises
  • Isolated Strengthening Exercises
  • PNF Stretches
  • Myofacial Release
  • Check point assessments every 8 sessions

Bottom Line:
If you're simply looking for a personal trainer to put you through 60 mins of exercise multiple times a week, this is not the right program for you. But if you're looking to make a lasting change that will support you in living the life of your dreams, with less pain and limitations, this might be the program that you've been looking for.
